The 2010 Eisner Awards were announced last night, and NZ ex-pat writer/artist Roger Langridge has been nominated for 'Best Humour Publication' for his work on 'The Muppet Show Comic Book: Meet the Muppets', published by Boom Studios.

It's a well deserved nomination (and a 'no-brainer' if you ask this writer), Roger's work on this series perfectly captures the humour and tone of the much loved Jim Henson creation, utilizes the language of comics to brilliant effect. The rhythm and comic timing of the original show is present in Roger's carefully constructed gags and show pieces, creating a faithful adaptation which is unique to it's new storytelling format.

Roger commented on his blog earlier today: "I'm not holding my breath about actually winning the thing - I'm up against
John Stanley, for crying out loud - but it's a great feeling to be on the list. Thanks to the Eisner committee for the nomination, and to all the talented people who facilitate the process and make my work look as nice as it does".

The Eisner Award winners will be announced at a gala awards evening at Comic-Con International, Friday July 23. From Earth's End wishes Roger the best of luck!
